Asbestos- types of asbestos anthophyllite, actinolite

ANTHOPHYLLITE 
anthophyllite asbestos is also known as  azbolen asbestos.this is also the part of  amphibole family of asbestos. magnesium iron inosilicate hydroxide(Mg₂Mg₅Si₈O₂₂(OH)₂) is the chemical composition of this type of asbestos.it is generally brown or yellow in color. it is the product of metamorphism of magnesium rich rock. it is basically produced due to the metamorphic reaction which is due the break down of  talc in ultramafic  rocks with the presence of carbon dioxide  and water.it is also characterised by sharp ,fibres and relatively flexible.it can easily be inhaled. the presence of anthophyllite is also results to mesothelioma or other asbestos diseases.it takes more time to recognize the mesothelioma lung cancer.
 talc is basically a type of clay minerals.the chemical composition of  talc is (hydrateded magnesium silicate)H₂Mg₃(SiO₃)₄ or Mg₃Si₄O₁₀(OH)_{2. it is mostly used in baby powder  as a talcum powder.}

 USE OF ANTHOPYLLITE ASBESTOS
 anthophyllite does not mostly used in commercial products or costumer products.
it is basically used in the such products which  containing  vermiculite and talc.




ACTINOLITE
Actinolite is the much similar to the tremolite asbestos.it is also the member of the amphibole family of asbestos.it has long ,flexible,sharp fibres .it is generally dark in color.it has been found that in 2002 ,about 30000 cubic yard of rock that was taken from a university property has consist of 10% of actinolite.actinolite has appears in different-2 forms like compact,brittle,fibrous,and also flexible.it has different-2 colors like white,green ,gray or brown.they are also tiny,sharp,fibers and very easy to inhale. after inhaling it is difficult to expel it again after absorbed by the body.
the chamical composition of actinolite is amphibole silicate mineral .the chemical formula of 
actinolte is Ca₂(Mg_4.5-2.5Fe²⁺_0.5-2.5)Si₈O₂₂(OH)₂.

actinoilte is made up of several minerals like   calcium,silicon,iron, magnesium,hydrogen,or oxygen.

the combination of the actinolite and vermiculite can be used to produce light weight insulation materials.

MESOTHELIOMA 
Mesothelioma is a disease that results from asbestos. asbestos is the main reason for mesothelioma. Asbestos is a set of six natural fibrous minerals. the main causes of mesothelioma are the exposure to asbestos and smoking regularly. Mesothelioma is a type of lung cancer.

asbestos is the fibrous amphibole that is used to make fireproof MATERIAL. inhaling of the fibrous can causes the asbestosis or lung cancer which is also known as mesothelioma.

 there are any of various silicate  minerals which having the fibrous structure.the amphibole group and chrysotile are used to make fireproof devices and building materials .but these asbestos are banned in many countries because they are harmful to the human organs.
also results in the mesothelima type of lung cancer.Serpentine and tremolite asbestos are considered the better varieties due to their greater flexibility and tensile strength, but anthophyllite asbestos has its uses such as in refractory cements.

CHRYSOLITE
chrysolites are the general type of asbestos.this is also referred as white asbestos .the material has physical properties to make it desirable  inclusion in building materials.it has monoclinic or orthorombic types of  crystal system. they are used in ceilings,roofs,walls and floors of home.they are also used in pipe insulation,automobiles brake linings gaskets and boiler seals.here we can easily observed that chrysolite type of asbestos have more uses which increases the chances of exposing into the surrounding and which is also more responsible to produce the lung cancer (mesothelioma)  or other type of disease.
  chemical formula is   Mg₃(Si₂O₅)(OH)_4.



                                         
AMOSITE

this is more toxic than other types of asbestos.the exposure of these type of asbestos is more harmful  than other.it causes lung cancer , mesothelima ,and asbestosis.in natural condition  amosite is known as mineral grunerite.it is also referred as brown asbestos.the EPA (Environmental protection Agency ) of U.S has determined that the use of amosite asbestos is second most commonly used mineral type of asbestos in US . amosite is primarily mined in south africa. amosite is long  thin fiber and also brittle  which can break off easily.

USE OF AMOSITE ASBESTOS

amosite is used  to make cement sheet,thermal insulation ,chemical insulation ,electrical insulation ,roofing products ,fire protection ,and tiles
also used in the production of acoustic and anti-condensation material.

CROCIDOLITE
this is also known as blue asbestos.crocidolite is characterised  like a thin human hair which is more flexible and can bend at 90 degree angle without fracture.crocidolite may be responsible  for many deaths than other asbestos.when this type of asbestos expose into the environment and inhaled by any person then it become lodged in the linings of the lungs.it is more flexible so it does not break easily.it produces life-threading lung and abdominal condition which results mesothelioma,lung cancer and asbestosis.it is an estimation that about 18 %  of crocidolite miners die from mesothelioma.it has also been found that the  people who live near the crocidolite mines , felt easily into that risk for mesotheiloma or other diseases.


USE OF CROCIDOLITE  ASBESTOS
It is mainly used in industrial and commercial products.
1. it is used to make fire protection materials.
2.It is also used to make a storage to store the acid .
3.used in steam pipe to make a better insulation.
4.thermal insulation like gaskets.
5.chemical insulation insulation.
6.electrical wire to protect them from the fire.
7.in ceiling tiles.


TREMOLITE
it is an amphibole.tremolite is charaterised by sharp and  like a needle which can easily  inhaled by human.tremolite fibers are more strong,heat resistant and flexible so they can be used in commercial  products paint roofing materials.chemical composition of tremolite asbestos is....Ca₂(Mg_5.0-4.5Fe²⁺_0.0-0.5)Si₈O₂₂(OH)₂.this asbestos is toxic and inhaling of this leads to lung cancer and both pleural and peritoneal mesothelioma.it is an indicator of metamorphic grade but it converts into the diopside when temperature is being changes.

the color ranging of  tremolite asbestos is creamy white to dark green.the color  may change with change of the magnesium and iron molecules found in the minerals(tremolite asbestos).
  
this type of asbestos is often found in the vermiculite. vermiculite is a natural mineral that change its shape which change in the temperature.
 
USE OF TREMOLITE ASBESTOS
